The Smurfs have been around for what seems like forever, and it’s one of those
cartoons that has actually aged well. Warner Bros. had a great thing going for them when they were releasing each season
on DVD, and now they’re releasing Smurfs Volume 1: True Blue Friends, which includes 5 great episodes of this classic
series, but it has me asking… why does it only have five episodes? Why wouldn’t they just release
Season 2 on DVD instead of a collection of out-of-order episodes from the second season? And have I mentioned that it
nearly costs the same for this DVD as it did for the seasonal DVD’s?
I love the Smurfs, and I would normally rate it much higher, but
I feel that we’re being robbed by them teasing us with such a small DVD with such a high price. I would save your
money for when they finally release the second season on DVD, or better yet on Blu-Ray.
