The one eyed sailor is back!
Popeye is here and couldn't be any better. 31 classics from the 1930's and '40's on two discs make this
collection a tough one to beat, even without spinach!
Although they claim to have remastered the cartoons, it still looks rough and filled with
grains, but what can you expect from a cartoon that is seventy years old? Once you get past the quality, which is easy
to do, you will be entertained by classic Popeye shorts that have withstood the sands of time.
The DVD collection also includes commentaries and Popeye Popumentaries Featurettes with animators, historians and other cartoon
creators. Watch as Popeye and Bluto battle it out for the love of Olive Oyl, which always confused
me - she was a little over-rated to me, but nonetheless - a highly entertaining set of our favorite spinach eating one eyed
sailor - Popeye the Sailor Man! He is what he is, and he is 1930's comedy at it's finest!
